TAUNTON Military Wives Choir will be coming to the town for a special concert this Summer.
The choir will be aiming to raise the roof and sell out Kingston St Mary Church when they perform there on Saturday, July 1.
The choir was formed in 2013 following the success of Gareth Malone’s programme ‘The Choir’.
The choir is part of a network of around 70 military wives choirs across the UK and abroad.
They have rehearsed weekly at Norton Manor Camp and are made up of wives, girlfriends and mums of serving military personnel and also have retired personnel.
A spokesperson for the choir said: “The Choir is a friendly, supportive place - we are all aware of the stresses and strains of military life and there is always a hug if you need it, a shoulder to cry on and plenty of laughter and fun!
“The last few years have been amazing for our choir.
“We have performed in numerous concerts, recorded an album and we even sang on stage with Lulu.
“Singing truly is good for the soul and we are lucky that we get to do it together.”
Tickets for the Taunton concert which starts at 7.30pm cost £10.
These are available and can be bought from Jean Alger-Green on 01823 451732 and John Manning on 01823 451244
