WIVELISCOMBE Town Band have a new conductor and he will be making his debut appearance on Saturday.
After years of searching for a conductor the band has been extremely fortunate in engaging the very talented Chris Grabham, who will be conducting the band for the first time at St Andrew’s Church Fete, Wiveliscombe, at 2pm onJune 17.
Chris Grabham is quite a phenomenon: he is just 19 and has the wisdom and skill you’d associate with someone of much more mature years, but he is already very experienced as a choral conductor, percussionist, bass player and composer of rock operas.
He is already rejuvenating the band, sprucing up playing and encouraging everyone to practise.
The band is currently looking for new members, especially other youngsters.
