PIANIST Mike Denham’s popular vintage jazz sessions at Ilminster Arts Centre come of age tomorrow (Friday).

For his 21st Speakeasy at the Arts Centre, Mike is joined by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Graham Hughes for an evening that promises to be filled with music, fun and Mike’s famous anecdotes.

Graham Hughes is a remarkably versatile musician – there aren’t many instruments he doesn’t seem to be able to turn his hand to! As a trombone player Graham has toured the UK and Europe with renowned musicians such as Keith Nichols, Enrico Tomasso, the Charleston Chasers, the Passadena Roof Orchestra, and Alan Barnes among Mike Denham is one of the most popular performers at the Arts Centre, and his concerts generally play to a full house.

A brilliant pianist, Mike has a profound and enduring love of early jazz, and his trademark repartee is studded with an array of amusing but informative anecdotes about the world of jazz. Mike’s repertoire ranges across American jazz from the early 20th Century through to ‘50s Rock ‘n’ Roll.
