Mariah Carey loves high heels so much she wears them on the treadmill and claims she even swims in them.
But teetering on towering heels proved the diva’s downfall when stepping off her new boyrfriend James Packer’s yacht – as she took a tumble down the steps.
Luckily for Mariah there were plenty of minions there to catch her and stop her plummeting all the way down to the bottom, so her romantic holiday in the Mediterranean was not disturbed too much.
And Mariah knows how to work around any injury, as demonstrated by this blinged-up sling from when she dislocated her shoulder on the set of a music video in 2013.
Mariah is not the only star to have suffered a public trip-up of late. Here are some other celebrities to have taken a fall recently, some with more serious consequences.
Britney Spears
Britney twisted her ankle during her Las Vegas show recently, and her backing dancers had to come to her rescue.
U2′s The Edge
The Irish rocker lived up to his name when he disappeared off the edge of the stage in Vancouver during U2′s current world tour.
P Diddy
Diddy accidentally disappeared through an open trapdoor in the stage during his performance at the BET Awards and was pulled out by fans.
Florence + The Machine
Florence Welch got a little carried away during her set at the Coachella festival this year and jumped off the stage. She carried on bravely and was carried off at the end of the performance – but it turned out she had broken her foot.
Dave Grohl
The Foo Fighters frontman fell off the stage during a show in Sweden recently and broke his leg, forcing him to pull out of headlining Glastonbury while he recovered from surgery. Ironically, it was Florence Welch who stood in for him at the British festival last week.
Elton John
Elton tried to take a seat on a folding chair during a charity tennis match at the side of the court last year, and it fell over backwards. Watch his anxious minions run to his aid.
