TV legends Timothy West and Prunella Scales will be taking a break from the waterways of the world to visit Taunton.

The pair, famed for unmerous TV and stage roles throughout long careers in showbusiness, will be at The Castle Hotel on Friday, March 16.

The couple, who have been married for more than 50 years, will discuss their lives on stage and screen before enjoying a meal with visitors during the lunchtime event.

Prunella is best known for her role as Sybil, the troubled wife of Basil Fawlty in the legendary Fawlty Towers, while Timothy has in recent years appeared in Coronation Street, Eastenders and Last Tango in Halifax.

They will also talk about their shared love of canals and narrowboats, and their book, Our Great Canal Journeys, based on the hit TV series which has seen them travel the waterways of the world.

The pair will be hosted by proprietors of The Castle Hotel, Kit and Louise Chapman, with the talk getting underway at 11.30am, followed by a book signing and an opportunity to enjoy a two-course lunch with Timothy and Prunella at 1pm.
