Letter: Reform UK's vast, billionaire-backed propaganda

It’s amazing how Farage’s Reform UK (pseudonym for 'Trump Copycats') have used their billionaire-backed propaganda to con innocent working-class folk into voting again for racist self-harm, as in Brexit’s 2016 EU Referendum, which economic experts now tell us has cut our overall economy by some four to 14 per cent.

Self-harm, now described in Reform’s latest documents, refers to the following:

• A massive £50bn worth of extra cuts to our already decimated administrative, welfare, and environmental public services.
• Closing down overseas aid threatens the survival of hundreds of thousands of the world’s poorest people.
• More big cuts to the UK people’s welfare, disability and unemployment benefits.
• Closing breakfast and leisure clubs in schools.
• Restoring the two-child benefit cap, which recently cut child poverty by some 500,000.
• Severe cuts to public transport, climate change and net-zero carbon emissions subsidies.
• Spending billions on brand new five-year, grants-supported or ICE-enforced, deportation of up to 12m so-called - but not by UN charter - 'illegal' immigrants.
• Cutting libraries, social and recreation facilities.
• Big cuts to all other desirable 'woke' (equality for all) facilities.
• Reversing recent general minimum wage and public services’ wage increases, and better employment rights.
• Big cuts in taxes for richer people, with stamp duty and some business rates removed.
• Recent new renters’ rights reversed.
• Big increases in defence and nuclear power/bombs spending, seriously worsening global 'Doomsday Clock' and 'nuclear Armageddon' predictions.
• All free National Health Services transformed to US-styled Medicare and private insurance-based schemes.
• All grants and spending on climate change mitigation, or renewable energy services (much cheaper than fossil fuel), or equipment for cutting GHG emissions, severely cut.
• Equally big expansion - Trump’s 'Drill Baby, Drill' extravaganza - in the UK’s remaining North Sea oil and copying US 'fracking' for even further fossil fuels.

Yes, an almost endless list of working-class self-harm, except tax cuts, of course, for the exceptionally rich, such as the 'unemployed' 157 latest remaining billionaires described in last week’s annual 2026 Sunday Times Rich List now available both in hard copy and from internet search.

Did people really vote for any of this on May 7?
