SIX talented musicians aged between eight and 12 celebrated a remarkable achievement in the week of November 22, 1996.
All of the children, pupils at King's Hall School, have won prized placed with the National Children's Orchestra.
The orchestra was formed in 1978 to cater for the needs of talented children aged under 14.
Youngsters auditioned from all over the country to join one of the five orchestras, which hold concerts in major cities.
Music director Colin Virr said: "For just one of our children to have succeeded would have been excellent, but six is almost beyond belief.
"The children are indeed excellent musicians of considerable potential and several of them are music scholars at the school.
"This achievement speaks volumes about the music at King's Hall."
