A NURSERY for 40 children was officially opened at Archbishop Cranmer Community School in the week of December 13, 1996.

Former teacher Dorothy Pope returned to unveil a commemorative plaque in the education authority-funded nursery.

Headteacher Gareth Morgans said he and the pupils at the school were delighted with the new nursery, and said he hoped it would help the children as they started off their education journey.

Mr Morgans said: “The facilities are quite outstanding and we have everything parents would like to see in a nursery.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the children, which parents have realised.”
