PRODUCTS of companies set up by enterprising school students.

Bishop Fox's, Ladymead, Heathfield, St Augustine of Canterbury Taunton School, Court Field and SCAT were taking part in the young enterprise scheme.

Students set up and run their own companies. Local business advisers provide help and support for the company but the final decisions were made by the youngsters, who made, advertise and then wind up the business after making a profit.

Their goods were set to go on sale at the Asda store in Taunton in the week of January 31, 1997, and store manager Tony Lamarque said: "It gives students not only the opportunity to meet the public and sell products which they have worked hard to develop, but also a realisation of the pressures involved in running a business."

Steve Harris, Spokesman for the scheme, said: "Young Enterprise certainly provides young people with a chance to find out about running their own company."
