THE parents of a five-year-old girl who died in a horrific crash are setting up a road safety campaign in her memory.
Lily-Mae Jeffries was killed when she, along with her two sisters and great grandmother, were in collision with two motorbikes during a seaside break on the A354 in Weymouth on March 11 this year.
‘Look 4 Lily’ hopes to promote drivers awareness of pedestrians that may be crossing or are at the side of the road.
Lily’s parents, John and Charlene, who live in Norton Fitzwarren, said: “I just hope we can use the road campaign as a positive force rather than focusing too much on the grief.
“It has been a difficult year but with the support of friends and family and the drive to do something positive in the face of such an overwhelming loss our family will continue to drive forward with a beautiful memory of our daughter, and the love in our hearts to do something positive in her memory.”
They also said £10,000 was raised from their Commando Challenge in October which saw Charlene and 40 others, called Lily’s Sparkle Helpers, take on an assault course in Lily’s memory.
West Dorset Coroner Michael Johnston recorded a verdict of accidental death at an inquest into Lily-Mae's death.
