A SAFE containing almost £4,000 was taken in a smash and grab raid on a store in Wellington.
Raiders targeted Sunseed, South Street, in the early hours of Saturday (December 29) morning and ripped up the safe bolted to the floor before making off with cash made over the Christmas period.
Sgt Helen Boyd, from Wellington police station, said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we're looking at CCTV to try and identify the offenders.”
Thieves broke into the wholefoods and natural beauty store through the rear entrance between 2am and 5am.
