A COUPLE found clinging on to a ledge after slipping down a bank of the River Avon in Bath have been rescued.
The man and woman, thought to be aged about 20, had slipped 20 feet down the steep bank at Beehive Yard, behind Walcot Street, fire crews said.
People living nearby rang 999 after hearing their distress calls.
They were pulled to safety by firefighters using ropes and a ladder just after midnight.
The man suffered injuries to his leg.
