EXFORD explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has been fined £450 and incurred five points on his licence after admitting speeding.
Sir Ranulph, 68, had previously denied driving at 98mph in a 70mph zone at Daviot in the Highlands on June 20, but changed his plea in a letter handed to the Inverness Justice of Peace Court by his solicitor.
He is currently undertaking his latest expedition, The Coldest Journey, a trek across the Antarctic during winter, where temperatures can reach lows of -70C.
