FIREFIGHTERS were called out in the early hours of this morning to deal with an accident on the A358 near the turning to West Bagborough.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call at about 3.30am from the Ambulance Service about a road traffic collision.
Two fire engines and a rescue tender from Taunton attended the scene.
Officers confirmed a single vehicle accident with one casualty trapped inside the wreckage.
They rescued one male occupant from the car using hydraulic cutting equipment.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
