THE MUSEUM of Somerset is welcoming visitors to illustrated talks by four Somerset artists, as part of the ‘Earth Air Fire Water’ exhibition.
Metalsmith Jim Horrobin, who began working life in his father’s traditional smithy in West Somerset, will be among those speaking at the event.
Now creating contemporary pieces, Jim uses a mix of traditional and modern hand forging techniques to give his work an organic feel.
Other artists who will be giving talks at the event on June 13 include sculptors Chris Dunseath and Nick Durnan, and glass artist Fabrizia Bazzo.
The exhibition, which runs until July 6, includes large-scale and more intimate sculptures, paper hangings, wood cuts, moody prints, photos, dazzling glass, ceramics, expressive watercolours and drawings, and bold forged metal.
Tickets are £6 (full-time students £4) from the museum. Doors and bar open at 7pm. For further information please call 01823-255088.
