A SPONSORED abseil by the Wellington Majorettes raised around £1,500 towards funding their new kit.
The purple-uniformed youngsters climbed down the roof of Debenhams in Taunton on Saturday (June 8) in a bid to raise enough cash to repair broken equipment.
Troupe leader Louise Brierley said: "We had 14 abseilers of which all got sposored by family and friends totalling approximately £1,000.
"We also had additional company sponsorships making the total profit in excess of £1,500, which is a great start to our trailer fund."
