A TALENTED musician has passed an incredible milestone, after celebrating 50 years of service to the West Somerset Brass Band.
Peter Owen, who plays euphonium, has held the positions of chairman and secretary during that time and is still an active committee member – looking after bookings for the band.
He was presented with an engraved silver tankard during an afternoon of music in Minehead’s Blenheim Gardens – the penultimate summer concert for the band, which saw them play numbers from James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter.
The 21-strong band always welcomes new members of all ages and abilities.
