HUNDREDS of people headed to Minehead’s Blenheim Gardens for the town’s inaugural Party in the Park.
There was a party outfit competition, a bouncy castle and face painting to keep children entertained, while adults were treated to live music and a variety of arts and crafts stalls.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Minehead and the Quantocks and sponsored by Minehead Events Group.
Rotarian Delia Paveling said: “It was really excellent. The park was quite crowded for most of the day. People brought picnic rugs, tables and chairs and some stayed for the whole event. Blenheim Gardens has a very cosy atmosphere.
“People were sitting on the grass listening to music while the giant balloons and bubbles were a great hit with the younger ones. There were bubbles drifting across the park for most of the afternoon, which was lovely.
“The stall holders had a really good day – one lady ended up emptying her shop to re-stock.
“This was the first Party in the Park, and hopefully there will be a second.”
