A TAUNTON school came away victorious after blitzing their way through a Multi Academy Trust football tournament.

St Andrew’s Primary School successfully saw off three other primary schools at the Bridgwater College event, to be crowned winners over every age category they entered.

The pupils arrived at the college and were split into teams by students from the Coaching in Community Settings, who arranged sessions based on dribbling, passing, shooting and small sided games.

Corey Warren, 19, of Taunton, who studies the Level 3 Coaching in Community Settings, said: “I feel that the football tournament and training morning was a fantastic experience for all of us young coaches and a great way to progress with our coaching skills.

“We were given great responsibility, which I felt made the day a lot more realistic because it was all down to us students.”
