A BUDDING motocross star has signed a sponsorship deal to help fund his career in racing.

Todd Kellett, from Langport, has agreed a deal that will see him supported by Garmin until August 2015.

Garmin has already provided the teenager with a number of its sporting gadgets, such as the VIRB Elite action camera, which allows Todd to capture every moment of each race, as well as the Edge 1000 cycle computer which provides navigation and mapping capabilities.

The satellite navigation specialists have also agreed to cover entry costs to the various events in which Todd will compete over the coming year, such as the Maxxis British MXY2 Championship and the RHL Weston beach race.

Todd said: “I'm so pleased to have gained the support of what is a huge, globally renowned company.

"The collaboration with Garmin will enable me to continue to compete in motocross events across the country so I'm obviously thrilled.”

Katie Harrison, marketing executive at Garmin, said: “On behalf of Garmin, I am delighted to announce that we are going to be supporting Todd.

"He is an extremely talented young athlete and we are thrilled that he will be able to use and showcase our sporting products going forward.”

The 17-year-old grabbed the attention of the Garmin team after competing as a youth rider at Arenacross 2014 - a series of six motocross events of which Garmin was the title sponsor.
