Pet of the Week: your pets

The response we had was overwhelming and we received well over 200 photos on Facebook and Twitter of your best friends from the animal world. 

But we also realised Taunton has some bizarre – yet well loved – pets.

Here are our top four strangest pets. 

1) Steve James said he wasn't sure if Wayne would win on looks.

2) Sergei the Meerkat submitted by Montana Brookes. 

3) Montana made it on the list again for Mika the racoon. 

4) This is Paula the Brazillian Black tarantula submitted by Jessica Antoniou. Each to their own...

These were our top three 'Best Dressed': 

1) Lucinda D Ackland's three year old German Shepherd does an accurate impression of Red Riding Hood. 

2) Hannah McAndrew's cat. Santa baby...

3) It's a cat in a hat. Paulette McConnell's Mr Franklin. 

And of course, the three cutest pets. 

1) Duncan Smart's Olive. 

2) Rosie and her pup Mavro by Barbara Seacombe. 

3) And last but not least, Thor the love bird submitted by Chell Salter.
