COUNCILLORS Mike Rigby and James Hunt have banded together to provide grant funding to Wiveliscombe-based In the Mix Youth Project that operates youth services in the wider area.
Handing over £1,000 each from their Somerset Ccounty Council health and wellbeing budgets, they said that they were pleased to be able to support the excellent work undertaken by In the Mix.
Mr Rigby was particularly keen that they were able to continue their important outreach work, which sees In the Mix operating from many different sites in the area, including a number of locations in both his Lydeard division and Mr Hunt’s Upper Tone division.
The project will provide a varied programme of sessions around health, personal well being, active lives, exercise, the outdoor environment, nature, mental health, healthy living, good diets and nutrition, action planning, and personal support to young people around sexual health and underage drinking.
