A SCHEME that will deliver 12 new affordable family homes on the site of the Old Croft House in Williton is under way.
The care home closed in 2011 and years has become a visible derelict property, attracting anti-social behaviour.
Representatives from developers Knightstone, Taunton Deane Council, West Somerset Council, EDF Energy, Halsall and local schools celebrated the launch of the project on Friday.
Knightstone director of development Mike Day said: “We’re very happy to celebrate the moment when we start on site at Old Croft House.
"The project will rejuvenate a former derelict site and deliver much needed affordable homes in Williton, as well as create job opportunities which could benefit the local community.”
