THE Somerset Association for the Blind has benefited from a generous donation from a Minehead group.
The Victoria Memorial Legion Fund has given £1,000 to the charity to help it continue with its charitable work helping people with sight loss.
SAB Director, Neil Howe, said: "The very generous donation of £1,000 will greatly assist our work in the county, helping those with visual impairments.
"Transport costs alone in this rural county amount to £30,000 each year, but without this many individuals would lead lives of social isolation.
"Support such as this is most welcome."
The money was presented to the charity by the fund chairman Roy Malin, who said the fund "knows the money will be put to good use".
