MILVERTON has taken its first step to going green with an event hosted by Milverton Climate Challenge.
The climate challenge opened with a showing of Al Gore's Oscar winning film An Inconvenient Truth which saw over 100 people attend.
The film was introduced by Parish Clerk Gwilym Wren, who said: "The lead for this must come from the community. There is no point waiting for politicians to act."
The film was a warm up for the central event of the weekend, the Climate Challenge Event in Milverton's Eco-School and over 150 people turned up.
The Milverton Climate Challenge group piloted their carbon survey during the event.
One of the group's members, Nicky Saunter organised a 'Buy Local Buy Seasonal' food market.
