CHARITIES that struggle to get funding could significantly benefit from the Rotary Club's 50/50 cycle ride in June.

While half of all monies raised from the event goes towards the Rotary Club's charities, half can go towards a charity or club of the rider's choice.

For charitable groups this means to a certain degree they can sit back and enjoy the fact that Rotary have organised a slick fundraising event, and all they need to do is recruit cyclists to take part.

Of course, charities and clubs can be anything from the traditional medical charity to school's, churches or even an orchestra.

So if you're lacking essential funds to get new school sports equipment, your church needs to be painted, or you would like to buy more music for your orchestra's repertoire, you really should take advantage of the ride.

The bike ride itself takes place on Sunday, June 10 and attracts amateur and novice cyclists and fundraisers from all over the region.

This year is set to be bigger than ever with six distances to choose from: 10 miles, 18, 28, 38, 46 and 56.
