A WELLINGTON fish shop has scooped a top national award as Retailer of the Year.
Don Jones Fresh Fish was revealed as Seafood Independent Retailer of the Year at the Seafood Awards at London's Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel last Thursday.
The fishmonger in Wellington's Cornhill was awarded for its truly outstanding customer service and excellent quality of fresh fish. The judges were also impressed with their selection by BBC2 to appear in the television programme Stately Suppers' alongside the celebrity chef James Martin and for the many educational BBC radio programmes they have featured in.
Steven Freeman, owner of Don Jones Fresh Fish, said: "We're absolutely delighted to be crowned the top independent retailer in the UK. We take pride in making affordable, high quality fish available to our customers and are renowned for our knowledge of the product, which we're always happy to share."
