A WIVELISCOMBE man has become the latest recipient of Running Forever Running Club’s George Hudson Award.
Rob Murr was presented with the award - which is voted for by the club’s 270 strong membership and rewards an outstanding contribution to others within the club - and is presented in honour of the late George Hudson.
George was an inspirational member of Running Forever Running Club who did much to inspire other local runners before his sudden death in 2009.
Club chairperson, Sandra Williams said: “Rob is always willing to offer advice to fellow runners of all abilities and never hesitates to lead a group when needed.
“He particularly excels at motivating the beginners group.
“Rob is a very accomplished runner and triathlete but often puts his own training needs aside to help other club members.
“He is recognisable at local races, standing well over 6ft tall in his stripy socks.”
