A KITTY of £35,000 has been set up to tempt more visitors to Somerset.
A major tourism drive was given the boost with the donation from Somerset County Council.
The cash will go on high-profile adverts, including in national newspapers and Hello! Magazine and on Midlands radio stations.
The cider county is being branded the Jewel of the South-West' as part of the collaboration between the county, five district councils in Somerset and the tourism industry.
And locals will be targeted by ads closer to home to remind them of the wonderful landscape, attractions and food and drink right on our doorstep.
And a new website www.visitsomerset.co.uk will be a key resource for all would-be visitors and residents in Somerset.
