GLADYS Susan Maud Love of Dwelly Close, Chard, died at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, on March 18. She was aged 82.

Born in Combe St Nicholas, she attended the village school until leaving at 14 to work for the former Co-Op in Wadeford. Son Martin was born in 1963, and she went to live at Henson Park in Chard in 1967.

Glad spent many years working for Boots until her retirement in 1984, and did a lot of work for the bingos in Chard. She loved carnival, supporting Domino and Harlequin.

As well as son Martin, she leaves daughter-in-law Paulette and grandson Shaun.

The funeral took place at St Mary's Church, Chard, on March 30, followed by burial at Taunton Deane Crematorium.

Family mourners: Martin and Paulette Love (son and daughter-in-law); Molly and Terry (niece and nephew); Brenda and Darkie Hazel (close friends).

Unable to attend was grandson Shaun Love.

There were family flowers only, but donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation are still being accepted by the funeral directors.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by A.J. Wakely & Sons, 45 Holyrood Street, Chard.

The family of the late Glad Love would like to thank A.J. Wakely, and all her friends in Chard for their support and cards at this sad time. Also Dr Hughes and the staff of Springmead Surgery for all their care, and both Bristol and Musgrove Park Hospitals.
