AROUND 100 part-time and full-time jobs will be created when a DIY store opens in Taunton next month.

The Range is setting up in the two-storey Hankridge Way premises vacated by Homebase last month.

The store will also sell arts and crafts, furniture and homewares, as well as featuring a garden centre and cafe.

The company is taking on staff in roles ranging from store and department managers to warehouse workers and administrators in time for its opening on July 31.

Chris Dawson, owner of the Plymouth-based firm, said: “We feel that The Range is a unique shopping experience that has something for everyone and we are confident that the people of Taunton will enjoy what The Range has to offer.

“The Range is always excited about opening a new store and Taunton is no exception.

“We hope to be an integral part of the community in Taunton. I would personally like to thank the council for welcoming us and being so supportive.”
