A HEAD teacher who originally took over a primary school for a term is retiring today, Friday, June 17 - 16 years later.
Ralph Bullock is being given a send off by pupils, staff and parents at Bishop's Hull Primary School on his last day.
He originally arrived from Churchstanton Primary School as acting head in September 1999, where he returned at the end of term.
He was back at Bishop's Hull in May 2000, when he wrote in the log book: "I hope to have many happy years here."
He told the County Gazette: "When I wrote that, I didn't envisage that I'd be here for just over 15 years - but I can honestly say that these years have been incredibly happy and fulfilling."
Mr Bullock praised his staff and governors, who had enabled pupils to "flourish" and he thanks the PTA for their fundraising efforts.
