TWO Wellington women have raised over £300 for the County Gazette-backed Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) by holding a special Easter raffle.
Shirley Cook and Jenny Troake of Pritex, held an Easter raffle at work and collected £327 for SURE.
That means that since the County Gazette joined forces with SURE last year a massive £62,217 has been raised.
SURE is aiming to raise £750,000 to provide equipment for a new cancer centre that is being built at Musgrove Park Hospital.
The group have raised in excess of £1/2 million since they began fundraising at the end of 2000.
There will be prize bingo at Monkton Heathfield village hall tomorrow night (Friday).
Eyes down will be at 7.30pm.
