THE second Stand Against Violence fun day on Castle Green and Goodland Gardens, Taunton, was twice the size and double the fun.

As well as 45 stalls, the activities last Wednesday included circus tricks, a slide, animal petting, painting a SAV star and plenty more.

Chief executive Adam Fouracre, who set up SAV to deter young people from violence, said: "I strongly believe that one key to violence prevention is enhancing and strengthening communities and engaging with all ages.”

The event raised over £1,000 for the charity, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the murder of Mr Fouracre's brother, Lloyd Fouracre, on September 25, 2005, the eve of his 18th birthday.

Children and businesses are being invited to decorate stars which will be displayed side-by-side in a maze structure on Castle Green.
