MORE than 150 primary school children descended on Court Fields school for an invasion games festival.

The pupils came from the Wellington secondary's feeder schools - St John's, Wellesley Park, Rockwell Green, Sampford Arundel and Beech Grove primary school.

Elizabeth Lees, event organiser at Court Fields, said: "It was fantastic. We had over 150 primary school children here.

"It was part of the initiative for primary age children to be involved in sport. For every year group they get two festivals a year."

Two schools, Langford Budville and West Buckland, also usually attend, but were unable to on this occasion.

Elizabeth added: "I would just like to say a big thank you to the sports leaders. The sports leaders are in Year 8 and 9.

"We do a little bit of training with them, and they did brilliantly well."

Court Fields next festival is being held on October 16 with year 2 pupils.
