ORGANISERS of the village breakfasts in Wheddon Cross were delighted to have cooked for 104 people on Sunday 4th October.
Organiser Sally Parish said: “We had lots of compliments from our customers, with many of them promising to come back next week too. We would especially like to thank our junior waiting staff Isabel Ambler, Guy and Evie Schofield, and Bethany Kirby who were an asset to our team.”
This is the twelfth year that the village breakfasts have been run and this year should see the fundraising break the £10,000 mark.
All produce used was purchased locally with the bacon and sausages from Clive Downs Butchers in Porlock; the muesli from Dunster Watermill; the jams from Brendon Hill Crafts; and the apple juice from Torre Cider. All other items are purchased from Budgens in Wheddon Cross.
Breakfasts will again be available from 8am to midday at the Moorland Hall on Sunday 11th October, and cost £6.50 for adults, £4 for children. No need to book – just turn up. A vegetarian option is available. For further details contact Sally Parish on 01643 841891.
