NORTH Curry Community Coffee Shop has celebrated its first anniversary.
On Saturday guest of honour Cmdr David Ryan cut a cake to mark the occasion.
The site, a derelict stable near the centre of the village was given to the parish on the understanding that it would be refurbished for the use of the community and in 2005 a small company was set up to raise funds for the project.
In addition to the coffee shop, the premises include the parish clerk's office and space for storage of the village archives.
Volunteers staff the shop in turn, from Tuesday through until Sunday. Any surplus profit is distributed to charities and local organisations.
