HEART FM’s Cormac MacMahon has been announced as the host for this year’s Somerset Business Awards

Cormac will join the celebrations, which take place on Friday, October 23, for the third consecutive year.

He said: “It is a real honour to be asked to host the annual Somerset Business Awards again.

"It’s a fantastic opportunity for the business community to be able to celebrate such a rich diversity of business within the county, and I feel privileged to play a part in recognising and rewarding this outstanding talent.”

Growing in popularity each year, the Somerset Business Awards – now in their 11th year – attract a wide variety of entrants from all sectors within the Somerset business community.

This year, due to an overwhelming rise in the number of entries, the ceremony will be held at the Wellsprings Sports and Leisure Centre in Taunton.

The new larger venue has a capacity of more than four hundred and will provide the perfect platform for the glittering black tie event.

Organisers of the Awards, the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, will also be hosting a Profiting from the Awards workshop on July 14, at 7.30am, at the Yeovil Court Hotel.

Supported by ADPR Ltd – sponsors of the Marketing and Promotions Award – the session will provide delegates with information and advice about what the judges will be looking for and how to stand out from the crowd.

The breakfast event will also go through the entry process step-by-step and highlight how previous winning businesses have maximised their award wins.

The Somerset Business Awards annually acknowledge business success, adding credibility and creating publicity opportunities for the winners; as well as celebrating the business talent and success within the local Somerset area.

One of the most important and popular dates in the county’s business calendar, many Somerset Business Awards winners go from strength to strength following the success of winning.

The Awards are free to enter and businesses must nominate themselves. To enter and for further information, please visit www.somersetbusinessawards.org.uk. The Awards will officially close for entries on Friday, August 21, at 5pm.
