MENTAL health charity organisers in West Somerset are hoping dozens of people will turn out with home-made kites in a stress-busting exercise tomorrow (Thursday).

Mind wants people to take their bin bag creations to Lutterall Gardens, North Hill, Minehead this evening to mark Mindweek, which starts on Saturday.

Project manager Deborah Melmoth said: "Exercising outside surrounded by trees, fresh air and green grass makes you feel better than staying indoors.

"Green exercise could be anything you choose, from a walk in the park, playing ball games, or gardening.

"Outside activities can improve your well being and your mental health which is something we all need to do."

She added: "It's all about getting involved and being connected with the environment. "We are promoting stress busting tips like getting outside and linking up with other people, and kite flying is a great way to be have simple fun exercise."

The kite fliers will meet at 6.30pm.
