PEST control officers hope to cut the seagull population in Taunton by duping the birds into sitting on plastic eggs.
The ruse was dreamed up after continued complaints about the nuisance caused by aggressive birds in and around the town centre.
Officers from Taunton Deane Council has oiled eggs over the past two years to prevent them hatching - last year almost 100 eggs failed to hatch because of the treatment.
