A HOME was evacuated during a gas scare in Rockwell Green.
The fire service was contacted to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm going off at 6.36pm yesterday, Wednesday, October 14.
The caller was given safety advice by fire control while two fire appliances were mobilised from Wellington Fire Station.
On arrival, the officer in charge confirmed the property had been evacuated as advised by fire control.
Fire crews donned breathing apparatus, used a gas monitor and took a hose reel into the property to investigate.
Traces of carbon monoxide were detected on the second floor of the premises.
Gas to the property was isolated and crews checked the adjoining property with gas detection equipment.
The affected propoerty was ventilated and safety advice was given to the occupants.
