I WOULD like to thank all those who voted for me on Thursday, May 3, but to be truthful in view of the voting system as it was I was not confident I stood a chance.

No matter what the candidates stood for or which party they supported, I would ask why should a voter have the right to have two or three votes?

To be truly democratic it should have been one person one vote. If one of the candidates is very popular he or she will poll a lot of votes and the other candidate standing on the same side will also do well riding on the back of that candidate.

This situation applies to all the parties.

I really believe that under one man one vote the outcome would have shown a different result.

It was this Government's idea for one person to have more than one vote and maybe another party supported the idea. I can only guess what party that might be.
