SOME 400 mountain bikers are due to set off from Dunster in August for the annual Exmoor Explorer Mountain Bike Marathon.
Local riders, as well as visitors from all over the country will mount up for a full day of mountain biking taking them over the hardest tracks the organisers can find before reaching the tea stop at Luccombe.
Organisers Team Zoyland say the marathon is not a race, but an event that provides challenge and enjoyment on routes of 25 or 35 miles using permitted rights of way across Exmoor National Park.
A donation is made from entrance fees collected to CareMoor for Exmoor, the National Park Authority's environment fund, as well as other local causes.
The marathon will start in the grounds of Dunster Castle on Sunday, August 5.
This year, applications to enter the event will only be accepted on-line and there will be none allowed on the day. To enter and for more information click on the link below.
