POLICE are hunting thieves who stole equipment from a Taunton civil engineering firm worth around £10,000.
More than one person must have been involved in the theft as some of the plant taken was too heavy for one person to lift.
The culprits cut through a lock and forced their way into the premises of Avent, on Canal Road, overnight on Tuesday.
They would have needed a vehicle to transport the tools.
The items taken were a 14in road saw, serial number 1015; a 2.8 KVA Generator (2913); two stihl saw (2990 and 2994); a hydraulic power pack (2949); a rammer (1004); a plate compacter (2456); and a breaker 1.5 tonne (1043).
All the items are marked with the yellow and blue Eagle Plant logo.
Anyone in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen anything suspicious, or who is offered any of the items, should contact Taunton police on 0845-4567000 or Crimestoppers at https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/crimestoppers/ContactForm.aspx or on 0800-555111.
