BY popular demand the Military Band Concert that used to be held in St Mary Magdaelen Church, Taunton during October is to be reinstated this October after a gap of two years.

Previous years have seen The Central Band of The Royal Air Force and The Squadraneers visit twice. The Band of the Ghurkha Rifles with their Kukri dances has been twice. The other years have been filled by The Adjutant General's Corps Band, and of course The Band and Bugles of The Light Division. This year we have secured the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marine Commando's. This will be their first appearance in Taunton.

The concerts are in aid of The Royal Star & Garter Homes for Disabled Ex-servicemen and Women. The concert by the Band of the Royal Marines will be held in St Mary Magdalene Church on Wednesday, October 24, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will be £7 or £5 for concessions. It is hoped that the Homes' vice-president Simon Weston OBE will host the event. Details from the church book shop or Lt Col Ray Hall on 01823-325998.
