BUDDING orators had their say in the Youth Speak competition organised by the Rotary Club of Taunton Vale.
The local heat featured eight teams in the intermediate and senior age levels, judged by Roger Priest, Trevor Margenout and Tracey Khodabandheloo.
The audience of 70 people listened the teams, which consisted of a chairman, speaker and vote of thanks.
Heathfield Community School won both categories - the intermediates spoke on the Domino Effect, while the seniors' topic was Is Kindness Going Out of Fashion?
Bishop Fox's teams came runners-up in the two sections.
All four teams progress to the district competition next month, attempting to reach the regional and national heats.
