IT was all about bell and jigging as the Taunton Deane Morris Men braved the elements and morris danced to raise money for SURE, the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment charity.

The dancing took place over the Christmas period, bringing much needed donations for SURE.

The charity fund the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital and help maintain a local cancer treatment facility for Taunton.

Mary Hayward of SURE said the unit rely on contributions such as this to cover the high costs of installing and operating equipment to treat cancer and we are so grateful to everyone who contributes towards our cause.

The Morris Men's squire, Mike Highfield said: "We all enjoy keeping a tradition of Morris Dancing alive in the Taunton area and are proud to help a worthy local cause at this time of year."

Taunton Deane Morris Men meet each Tuesday evening at 8.00pm to 10.00pm at St Georges Church Hall during September to Easter and anyone interested would be welcome to join them.
