CHILDREN, families and teachers of North Town Primary school got together at the weekend to give the school garden a makeover.

The main focus was to replace the wooden seating, giving it a new and improved area for learning as well as relaxing.

Lessons and story time can now be held outside where children will benefit from the fresh air and enjoy the aroma from the many scented plants in the new beds.

The team of volunteers also built a new poly tunnel and high raised bed making gardening more accessible to less able pupils.

A spokeswoman from the school thanked Viridor UK for their donation of compost which has been used throughout the project meaning the children will be growing many more vegetables, fruit and flowers.
