AS a resident of the Staplegrove Road area of Taunton I am disgusted at the graffiti scrawled on walls and fences and particularly on the railway bridge.
I quote from the County Gazette of June 23, which stated, “One elderly couple who had their wall damaged will have to pay £1,000 to get it cleaned”.
No way. The vandals responsible for this mess should be made to clean it up, and pay for the materials needed to repair the damage.
They had nothing better to do than “paint the town” – mainly orange- so now they should use their time and money in service to the community making our county town a clean and pleasant place for residents, and an attractive centre for visitors and tourists.
