PUPILS from Wellesley Park Primary School were given a licence to thrill at a special James Bond themed party organised by parents.

Children in year six were treated to an evening of glamour and fun to mark their end of primary school education.

On arrival, the boys in their dinner jackets and girls in their best party dresses were photographed next to an black Aston Martin Vantage.

After entering their party via a red carpet, the leavers enjoyed a casino with roulette, baccarat, and Black Jack tables, as well as tasting mocktails.

The idea was the inspiration of parents, Carol Watts and Vickie Harrison, who have been planning the bash since April.

Vickie said: "We wanted to give the children a leaver’s celebration with a difference and came up with the idea of a James Bond night as we know a lot of the pupils enjoy the films.

"This was to give them a night to remember to mark the end of their time at Wellesley Park and nearly the whole year group have come to experience what we hope to be an exciting evening for them."

Duncan Pallant performed close up magic tricks and parents served canapés and nibbles on trays.

There were also dressing up opportunities with a photo booth, a chocolate fountain, and a 007 themed quiz and goodie bags.

Decorations were made and organised by parents, with some props loaned by Wellington Arts Centre, including a 10ft tall James Bond silhouette.

Carol said: "We would like to thank everybody who helped with the event either by giving their time or donating items.

"The youngsters had a really good time and we had comments such as awesome’ and it was the best night ever and I think many of the parents enjoyed themselves too."

A huge box of chocolate bars was given to the player with the most chips at the end and bouquets were presented to Vickie and Carol for their hard work.
